FAQs

What are personalised medicines?

A personalised medicine, also known as a Special, is an unlicensed medicine prescribed to meet the individual clinical need of a patient when a suitable licensed medicine is not available.

Who needs a personalised medicine & why?

Many people aren’t served by mass-produced medications. You may not be able to tolerate a standard dose or may need a different concentration or strength. You might have an allergic reaction to common drug excipients (the inactive parts of a medication like a colouring agent, preservative, or filler), or you may be unable to swallow pills. A personalised medicine can provide a solution.

Where do the bioidentical hormones come from?

Bioidentical hormones are derived from diosgenin, which is sourced from yams or soy and then converted into hormones which are chemically identical to those the human body produces.

Do I need a prescription to order?

Yes, all our personalised medicines need a private prescription.

How long is my prescription valid for?

A written prescription is valid for 6 months unless the prescription is for a controlled drug where it is only valid for 28 days.
